One of the most important areas of focus for loss prevention leaders should be LP team development. Arguably, team development is just as much, and perhaps even more consequential than personal development. The LP team is a direct reflection of the leadership of an organization, and the scope of influence by this team far exceeds the reach organizational leadership can provide. The LP team is consistently working with front-line employees. The LP team is constantly interfacing with middle management. The LP team is in some ways self-directing and often operating independently in the field with little or no supervision. The LP team is an incredibly influential and dynamic asset that deserves careful attention and purposeful leadership to realize its full potential.
